I mean, this place is good. Really really good. Not a big fan of putting foie gras on the menu, but the rest of the meal was wonderful. Some of the best wine I've ever had and a really nice dish. Expensive as you'll find in Boulder but worth it for a special occasion (losing a bet, in my case)
nouvelle cuisine - not too heavy - creative menu - very well done - service was great - knowledgeable waiter
This place is the bomb
Took my lady on valentine's day. Great food and wine ! The waitress was very polite, and friendly. Also her knowledge of wine was great. wine and food was delicious, but pricey. Would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a french/Asian style dishes. Will definitely return.
High end dining experience with a constantly changing menu.
Old School is the New School. Farm fresh, elegantly prepared dishes complimented by a superb staff. Radek's daughter, Alexandrea is joining her father's passion and now runs the original, Boulder, location. It's a family affair!
Loved the food but needed more lol💨🌲
Excellent food and the service was impeccable. We came on a Sunday evening during a Broncos game and had the whole place to ourselves. Delicious!
Beautiful cozy Restaurant and the food is exceptional along with its new owner.
Best in boulder
Very disappointed with the meal. We ordered escargot, filet mignon tartare, and the surf and turf to share for my birthday dinner. The escargot came without their shells and were served with mashed potatoes (???), arugula, and tomatoes. The tartare itself was fine, but the plating was horrendous and there was no need to deconstruct the tartare the way they did; I also felt the jalapeños were out of place. I was hoping the surf and turf would save the bad experience, but the mushrooms that we ordered instead of rice were like sponges soaked in oil. One bite was all it took for me to spit it out. The steak (ordered medium rare) still managed to be dry. I came expecting French food, and left with a desire to visit France again to avoid this kind of disappointment again. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because our waitress was wonderful and I have nothing negative to say regarding the hospitality she provided.
Horrible service, I was told multiple things by multiple people all contradictory. I was refused service because 'if I ordered food from a bar seat it would overwhelm the kitchen staff.' I called and asked there there were open bar seats for dinner and was told yes, I could sit and eat there, in front of the liquor display (which is apparently just for show and not a bar). And when I showed up I was told that I could not eat there.
We have been dining at L'Atelier for years, and they never disappoint! The appetizers are perfectly plated and the entrees are always done to our liking! They also have a great wine selection! The staff are very attentive and professional! I highly recommend this French restaurant!
I'd have given the L'Atelier five starts but the night we were there, they had the tables packed tight. It was very busy and the noise that comes of it. However, the food was spectacular and the service was personal and attentive.
Attended a Spanish wine-tasting dinner last night for 50+ people. 5 Courses with appropriate wine pairings. Food was fantastic and the service impeccable!!!! Salad with smoked trout and deviled egg garnished with caviar, Shrimp and mushrooms in a smoked paprika sauce ( to die for!), cassoulet with wild boar bacon, prime rib eye in wine sauce with veggies, and a luscious panna cotta garnished with fresh berries. Oh My! I am definitely going back. Has just become my favorite restaurant in Boulder!
The service could be a bit better so it would qualify as fine dining, but the restaurant gives off a more relaxed feel so maybe the casual service fits. Service aside, the rest of your experience at L'Atalier will be incredible. The food is stellar, with many interesting twists and classic dishes. Prepare to relax, take your time, and eat way too much.We had many dishes, and the only one that wasn't a hit was the French onion soup. It was a bit too sweet. The escargot was amazing, and I had one of the best cheese plates I've had in ages.Check this place out and make it one of your favorites, too.
We love Latilier. The service is incredible and Ari has become our favorite waiter (although they are all terrific). The food is always outstanding and I love that they are so accommodating with special requests. Be sure to try the "Chocolate Bag" dessert - a dark chocolate "bag" made from chocolate filled with fresh fruit, berries, ice cream, etc. This is our favorite place in Boulder to spend the evening together.
Food was great, server was friendly, quiet atmosphere.
We had such a lovely meal. At the last minute we added more people to our reservation. It was no problem, even on Thanksgiving. We were seated in a special, private booth. The food was beautiful and delicious. Everyone was wonderful to interact with. The hostess and our server, Andrew, were very sweet. We can't wait to return.
The chef is Czech but he learned in France, and he learned well. The only genuinely French restaurant in Boulder.
Good food but noisy and crowded
Disaster. Food was great, service was criminal. Actually took our bottle of wine off our table and gave it to another. And when they brought it back it wasn't the same wine.
outstanding food and service. truly delightful
What a dump. Poor service and terrible food! I will never go back.what a disappointment. I am pissed about dinner.
The food here is absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately the atmosphere felt really outdated, and our waiter schmoozed us just a little too much.
Best dining I have had in Boulder. As it is over the upscale limit for our budget, we only go to a place like this occasionally. This is just the best ever. Our service was impeccable, our decor, the plating, the lighting, the small touches- all were so pleasing to the senses. The food was fabulous and we so enjoyed the intimacy of the restaurant, and the lack of pressure to eat quickly and make room for the next persons.Great experience.
I rate this place poor because I must say that this place was excellent 4 years ago! They were serving real french food! However the food is very normal now when I tried it yesterday. The chef doesn't know how to cook seafood dish and the food taste too heavy. French food suppose to be light yet delicious and it should serve as small portion.( at least that is what I've seen when I was in France)In my opinion, they charged too much for what the food should have been. Plus, I don't think it's french food. It's more of American food. But, their raw duck meat was very good. Wine was excellent. Deserts were good as well. Go try and compare with other places and you will know what I am talking about!
Food was incredible, definitely one of the best in Boulder. Service was a great and there was a fairly laid back atmosphere which was nice. We will be returning.
It is obvious the kitchen staff has given up. Sloppy unimaginative food that makes you wonder why it takes so long to get to your table and why they think it deserves a high price tag. There are better restaurants around the strip.
L'Atelier is amazing, delicious food, warm, inviting fancy atmosphere, impeccable service. Definitely expensive and upscale, but compared to some of the other upscale restaurants in town it seems to be a better deal. Had some experiences with forgotten orders when with a large group (twice now) but hey, mistakes happen. Well worth it
L'Atelier is a good dining experience--the staff are attentive and the food is good. Unfortunately, being on Pearl Street means that there are dozens of alternatives and frankly, most of the other options (Oak, The Kitchen, Black Cat, Via Perla, etc.) are all better. If you want more reasonably priced French food, try Brasserie Ten Ten. They have great lunch specials and I would argue that some of the food there is better than similar dishes at L'Atelier for half the cost.
Lobster Raviloi was terrible. Fishy smelling and tasted like something out of a can. Gross.
The tartar was so good, wine and old fashioned were good! Every meal and appetizer we tried were delicious and artfully prepared. Great date restaurant for a special occasion or if you are Bilbo MoneyBaggins
This is our go to special occasion place. Best restaurant in Boulder. Food is fabulous, nice sized portioned, excellent service. Love it!
Food was absolutely incredible. On the pricier side but they could have easily charged double and you'd be like, totally worth it. Staff also great. Highly recommend. Will definitely go there again
We usually save this place for occasions and are always pleasantly surprised by the chef's new twists and creations. Great intimate atmosphere, the service is not always great, but most of the time it is.
Always great.
Loved it!Great food, incredible service and cozy ambiance. Must try
food is okay, but the service & atmosphere is so stuffy.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant is small and romantic, and the food is excellent. Kind staff as well. Highly recommend the rack of lamb!
An excellent restaurant in a town with many fine eating places. We were particularly taken by the attentive and knowledgeable waiting staff, and the quality of the food. My elderly mother was particularly taken with the warm of our waiter who took time to talk with her, and discuss her wine choice without condescension. We will be back again.
Great innovative food and great service
Amazing service from the incredible woman that is Ivy Newberry. Thanks for such a pleasant evening. ♥️
The food was excellent! Reminded me of the gourmet restaurant I worked in Las Vegas in the 70's. The duck was so tender and melted in your mouth. You're have to go to Denver in the future to partake. The one in Boulder is closing.
One of my favorite higher end places in Boulder!!!
This quaint little gem in Boulder has really good fench inspired food!!! Evertthing was paired well and tge sommelier was definitely on point!!!! Well worth the $$$ and drive if you aren't local....
We went there for new years eve, food is amazing. But wait time is super long even we had reservation. Otherwise, good service even it take forever.
Feels bigger than it looks from the outside. Good wine list, solid service, and outstanding food, superior to many nearby that get more attention.
very good restaurant, but pricy!!but everything is good and delicious!!!food that you don't eat everyday!!
Steak tartar is divine
